When did you start your pole journey?
January 1, 2011

Why did you decide to try pole dancing?
Pole dancing always sounded interesting and fun to me. For a while, I tried to convince friends to try it with me. When they wouldn't, I went by myself, and I've never looked back!

What do you love most about pole dancing?
The pole community is the warmest and most open-minded and welcoming that I have ever experienced. We celebrate and support each other. There's no 'one size fits all' standard. I love the feeling of accomplishment that comes after nailing a move I've been working toward. Pole celebrates what we are capable of, not what we look like or a certain body image. You have to develop strength and flexibility (and confidence for those pole shorts!). It's empowering, and it proves we can do more than we think if we let ourselves.

Why do you love Pole Pressure?
Pole Pressure is home to the best group of ladies and gents around! I wouldn't know most of my friends if not for Pole Pressure.

What are some of your goals for this year?
Right now, I'm trying to get my shoulder under control so that I can start entertaining the idea of competing again! I'm working on different handspring grips and transitioning in and out of that move in different ways. I also need to spend more time practicing and playing with combos on my own (so that I can better retain what I learn in class!).
