When did you start your pole journey at Pole Pressure?
March 2013

Why did you decide to try pole dancing classes at Pole Pressure?
I had just moved to DC and recently become addicted to pole dancing. Pole Pressure was the most convenient studio right in the middle of DC, and everyone was super welcoming.

What do you love most about pole dancing at Pole Pressure?

I love the Pole Pressure community. It's always changing, and that's been awesome. We welcome new people, they fall in love with the sport and they become part of the fabric of the studio.

Why do you love Pole Pressure?
I love Pole Pressure because it was there when I needed the sport and the community. I could leave the studio smelly and bruised and feel so accomplished and sleep so well. I've met lifelong friends, enjoyed being a part of so many rituals of health and self-confidence for students and instructors, and learned a lot about myself.

What are some of your goals for this year?

I'm leaving DC for a new adventure in Denver. My goal for the year is not to let the massive disruption that we are all experiencing keep me from finding a new studio and continuing to grow with pole and aerial sports. I already miss the Pole Pressure vibe, and I look forward to coming back to visit and see how it evolves.

If you could train with any of your pole/aerial/fitness idols, who would it be and why?
Steven Retchless. He liked one of my photos once and I melted.

What motivates you to train?
What motivated me to train was the surprise that my body was able to keep adapting and able to accommodate new tricks/skills. What motivated me to teach is that so many people kept coming to class. On weekday nights, I could have been having the worst day, but torturing a room full of people with a warm-up and then playing with pole combos and tricks would be the perfect escape from everything else. And Sunday Hoop was just what you did on Sundays... there was no other option or need to be motivated. I just had to be there.
